Information about requirements for properties in France
Listings for properties in France may require a Rental Licence Number. Whether you need a Rental Licence Number depends on the region in which your property is located.
If you have a property in one of the below regions, you must add your Rental Licence Number to your listing.
How do I add my Rental Licence Number?

Select your listing from your Listings Overview page and click edit.

Add your Rental Licence Number on the Basic Details step of the Listing Editor.

You have to register your listing if:

This listing is is your primary residence or your secondary residence

You own or rent this residence

Guests can book the entire home
You do not have to register your listing if:

This listing is a private/shared room within your main residence

It’s a non-residential space, such as a hotel, B&B, or other tourist accommodation

You host a furnished space exclusively for longer than 90 nights at time

You host a furnished space, exclusively, for a minimum duration of 1 month to a guest who is in a professional training program or internship, or is a student apprentice, or a civic service volunteer (“Mobility lease”, as defined by the ELAN Act).
In order to receive a Rental Licence Number you need to contact your local authority or City Council. This process is free and can usually be completed online.
