Legal considerations for renting

How do I make sure I'm doing everything legally?

If you're new to managing holiday rentals, you should familiarise yourself with the ins and outs of the holiday rentals business.

Understand your Local laws

When deciding whether to work as a Property Manager in Your.Rentals it is important for you to understand how the laws work in your area.

Some areas have laws that restrict your ability to have paying guests for short periods. These laws are often part of a city's zoning or administrative codes. In many cities, you must register, get a permit, or obtain a license before you list your property or accept guests. Certain types of short-term bookings may be prohibited altogether. Local governments vary greatly in how they enforce these laws. Penalties may include fines or other enforcement.

Some regions require a Rental Licence Number which you must add to your listing in Your.Rentals.
Read more about this here.

Please review your local laws before listing your property on Your.Rentals. We will endeavour to help you with any questions you may have but it is very important that you do your own research to make sure you know what is legally required of you.

By accepting our Property Manager Terms and Conditions and activating a listing, you certify that you will follow your local laws and regulations and that Your.Rentals is not responsible for whether you follow these laws or not.
