Why is it required for travellers to provide their personal information?
The primary objective is to enhance public safety in tourist areas, promoting a secure environment for visitors during their stay in Spain. -
Are all visitors, including minors, obligated to provide their personal information?
Yes, all visitors, regardless of age, are required to provide their personal information.
Personal information of people under 14 years of age should be provided by the adult person with whom they’re travelling. -
Which law mandates this requirement?
The registration is mandated by the Royal Decree 933/2021. Further details about this law can be found here. -
What information is required?
Guests are requested to provide the following information:
- Type of identity document
- Identity document number
- Identity document support number (for Spanish citizens)
- First name
- First Surname
- Second surname (for Spanish citizens)
- Date of birth
- Place of habitual residence (complete address, city, and country)
- Phone or email address
The kinship between a traveller younger than 14 years old and the person completing the registration on their behalf.

What happens if the guest choose not to provide the requested information?
It is a legal requirement for the host to submit guest's data to the Spanish Ministry of Interior. Failure to provide this information may result in the cancellation of the booking and potential legal consequences for the host. -
Can the guest register their data directly with the police?
No, the host must submit the data electronically. -
Do I need to provide information about other people I am travelling with?
If you made a booking and are also travelling, you should provide your own data as well as the data for minors you are responsible for. Other adults should provide their own data and the data for minors they are responsible for. If you made a booking for someone else and are not travelling yourself, you should not provide your own data. This information is required solely for those travelling to Spain. -
Who has access to guest data?
The host and the Spanish Ministry of Interior have access to guest data. -
How is my personal information protected and kept secure?
- We have implemented the following measures to safeguard your data:
- The registration page utilises SSL encryption to ensure the security of your information during transmission.
- Access to the registration page is limited to individuals possessing a valid booking confirmation or a direct link shared exclusively with your fellow travellers.
- With the exception of your full name, the information you provide is not visible to other guests.
- Your host is required to undergo a 2-factor authentication process to access the system and your data.

How is guest data processed and where is it stored?
Guest data is transferred to the Spanish Ministry of Interior database at 3 am following the check-in date. Additionally, the data is stored on a server in Frankfurt, Germany, in accordance with legal requirements for a period of 3 years. -
For how long is the data retained?
If the booking is not cancelled, the data is retained for 3 years from the check-out date. After this period, it is permanently deleted from our system.
In the event of cancellation, the data is immediately deleted from our system. A request is sent from Your.Rentals to the Spanish Ministry of Interior to delete your data. -
Whom should I contact if I believe my privacy is being violated?
For clarifications, you can initially reach out to your host. If needed, you can also contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency or the relevant Data Protection Agency in your own country. Seeking advice from a lawyer is additionally recommended.

Until what time can I provide my information?
Ideally, you should provide your information prior to your check-in or the host's deadline, which is 24 hours after your check-in. -
Can I provide my information directly to the host in person or via email, SMS, or other means?
In principle, it is possible. However, it is crucial to coordinate with your host to ensure mutual agreement on the method and timing of providing the necessary information. Failure to do so may jeopardise your booking or access to the property. -
Will my criminal record or past convictions be disclosed to my host or fellow travellers?
No, your criminal history will not be disclosed to your host or fellow travellers. The system solely forwards your registration data to the Spanish Ministry of Interior without providing feedback to others.
